Veda Sammelanam & Visesha Upanyasam
Veda is the cornerstone-root-of all our religious discipline and culture. It is the Veda which prescribes so much discipline as is required to raise man to his real stature. The Vedas which form the roots of Dharma, were revealed through the ancient sages for the welfare of mankind.
II) Why Vedas should be preserved?
III) Who should Preserve Vedas?
With the noble intention to preserve Vedas and our Santana Dharma, Pujya Sri Maha Periyava established Veda Dharma Shastra Paripalana Sabha in the Year of 1942 (at Kumbakonam) with a view to propagate Veda Dharma through the length and breadth of our country.
This Sabha with the Blessings of Pujyasri Acharyas of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam is continuing to perform various activities like conducting Veda Sammelans and Vidwat Sadas in various towns and cities. The Sabha is currently organising Monthly & Annual Veda Sammelans at various places throughout India.
These sammelans typically last for 4 days, comprising of chatur veda parayanams for first 3 days and Avahanthi Homamm on 4th day for the Loka Kshemam (welfare of the society). During the evening hours on Veda Parayanam days, spiritual discourses are conducted by eminent vedic scholars on Dharma Sasthrams for the benefit of Astikas immensely.
In order to know the importance of our Achaaram & Anushtanams, to pursue and follow them during our day to day mechanical life, the Acharyas of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Pujya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal & Pujya Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal have blessed to conduct VISESHA UPANYASAMS (Special Discourses) from 14th April 2014, in Apartments of city locations, rural belts and less populated villages to admire Swadharma.
